Faculty Liaison (Kristy): Anonymous suggestion box in the mailroom. Since summer semester the box has been missing. Let Kristy know if you spot it!
International Relations (Monica) – They had the most attendees yet at this year’s OTSC International Forum.
OTAC Representative (Carlos) - Made the OTAC Flash an intercollegiate Newsletter. He was also featured in the OTAC magazine.
Professional Development (Karen) – Volunteered at an “OT information table” at a health fair at a local nursing home.
Goals for this year

BS Representative/Ambassador Representative (Kayla & Jen): n/a
Faculty Liaison (Kristy & Doug): Aims to express our interests and goals to the faculty and be available to students. Possibly have an “Introduction Outline” with tips and information for future OT students to increase preparedness. Work on getting a Medical Spanish class for OTs. Also, currently working on finding a lounge space for OTs. Brought this idea up to the faculty and were dismissed because lack of space, so let Christy know if you spot any unused space!
Fundraising (Lori & Amy): Wants to motivate both 1st and 2nd years to get involved and excited about fundraising. Ideas: Restaurant fundraisers, bowling nights, and OT shirts. Organize events with other programs (if we go to theirs, they’ll be more inclined to attend our events).
GSG Senator (Cindy & Patience): Attended monthly senator meetings. Was involved in judiciary committee (political activism). Working on getting lockers for OTs.
Historian (Leila & Heather): more video contect
International Affairs (Monica & Sarah): Plan other events in addition to the International Forum. Get organizations involved that can be potential abroad opportunities.
MA-I Representative (Chad & Bindi): Want to continue to encourage the MAI students to be fully included, get to know the other OT students, and feel a part of the program.
OTAC (Carlos & Jodie): At the OTAC annual conference, will make sure to communicate feedback to students and faculty. Fought for more intervention presentations, make more relevant for students and clinicians. Working on a condensed version of the OTAC presentation for students to bring to their clinical instructors at their fieldwork sites. Aim to get OTAC Flash circulating on a more regular basis and reach northern CA schools.

OTD Representative (Eunice): n/a
PhD Representative (Kristine): n/a
Philanthropy (Jonathan & May): Aims to get people more involved in volunteer opportunities, including Swim with Mike, World OT Day
Professional Development (Karen & Rachel): Provide more opportunities for informal faculty/practicing clinician/student interactions. Possibly having casual faculty/student get-togethers at Barbara’s.
PTE Representative (Yasi): Empower classmates and encourage our peers to attend meetings, they’re all members
Secretary (Leah & Kate): Aim to increase our online presence. Make it possible for OTSC members as well as classmates to feel informed and knowledgeable about OTSC meetings and activities.
Social Chair (Kristin & Jen): Outing ideas: Vegas and Big Bear trip, wine tasting trip (Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo), camping. Wants to appeal to larger group of people not just “party” activities.
Treasurer (Molly & Maybelle): Will handle budget and year-end party. Will look for good deals and get the most “bang for our buck!” NOTE - If you’re planning something you’ll need OTSC funds for, let the treasurer know a few weeks in advance.
