Internal Business

  1. Spring semester meetings will be on Mondays from 4:00-5:30pm in CHP 112.  Please inform your Co-Chairs if you will not be in attendance. Meeting dates are as follows:
    • April 11th
  2. Upcoming Events:
    • Mar. 29- student forum for second finalist for Associate Dean & Chair, 4:30-5:30, CHP 112
    • April - OT Month
    • Apr. 2 - OT Extravaganza @ Center for Occupation and Lifestyle Redesign
    • April 4- OT Kick Off event in the quad
    • Apr. 4 - Guest lecture: Paul Fontana, OTR/L, FAOTA (topic: work hardening, ergonomics, workplace assessments, private practice)
    • Apr. 15-17 - OT Big Bear Cabin Trip
    • Apr. 18 - International Forum - 4:30-8 pm, G37
    • Apr. 21 - Film Screening and Q&A Session (“My Dog is My Home” - film about the human/animal bond for people who are homeless)
    • Apr. 22 - OTD Presentations, 1:30-3pm, April 15
    • Friday, May 6 -  End of the Year Party

    • International Forum date is secured
    • Dana will be making a newsletter for April. Contact her if you would like her to add anything.  
    • March 26 - Health Fair - do we have OT supplies/merchandise from former events?
      • Proposal - budget for posterboard - $15--Approved
    • Rose Float Fundraiser: postponed deadline - raise money by Jan 2017!

  1. Faculty Liaison (Doug & Auston)
DISCUSSION:
  • Faculty wants to ensure there is enough food for the end of the year party
    • Remind people to have dinner before--just appetizers will be served
UPDATES:
  • Brown Bag Lunch featuring our Adult Rehab Faculty went well
  1. Fundraising (Amy & Carolin)
DISCUSSION:
  • We would like to purchase more USC merchandise for OT Month
    • Number to order: 96 bottles
    • Proposed cost/bottle: $10-15
    • Budget needed:
  1. Historian (Heather & Evelyn)
DISCUSSION:
  • If you need any promotion or coverage for upcoming events, feel free to ask us to publicize on social media!
  • A meet the USC OT students blurb on instagram or facebook, promoting what OT means to students of USC to promote OT month
UPDATES:
  • Will be working on the End of the Year slideshow soon! Send in any pictures you would like to be featured.
  • We may be needing to borrow a projector/screen if DJ cannot supply
  1. International Relations (Sarah & Ken)
DISCUSSION:
  • Proposed budget: $225--APPROVED
  • Call for 2nd year international externship students who would like to speak about their experiences abroad!
  • Would like to provide leftover merchandise to 8 MA1 students and externship students who speak
  • Proposed international art day on 4/11 after class at 4pm and provide cookies as an incentive
    • Proposed budget: $20 approved

  • OTAC Legislative Reception on April 28th at PTN in Torrance. 6-8 pm. $25 for students

    • Planning spirit week and OT Month Series for social media accounts
    • Bake sale to raise money for Swim with Mike
    • USC Kicks for Kids event on USC main campus

  • During professional development week, perhaps having speakers for AOTA present their posters during lunch as practice and for people who cannot attend to see

DISCUSSION:
  • Confirm End of the Year Party ticket sellers (please stay afterward for the committee meeting!)
  • Details for End of the Year Party?
    • Time: 7-12:30am
    • Guests are allowed
    • Parking: Valet $10-12
    • Open bar for two hours and then cash bar afterwards
    • Appetizers, DJ and photobooth
