Social Events | - Still in the works, most likely 2-3 virtual events this semester - If there’s budget available, one event will involve raffle/budget - If you have any suggestions for events, please let contact Candace and/or Jessica! - Interest in collaborating with other organization for a larger social event | |
Fundraising | - T-shirt contest? - A t-shirt contest has been held previously and we are interested in doing another one this year! - Dr. Rafeedie and Dr. Chu encourage this idea, especially in making clothing designs! - Another idea is sticker designs! - This could be a cheaper alternative - Can possibly tie this with a social event while maintain being a fundraiser - If possible, try to sell to students at a cheaper price! - Next step is to check funds to move forward! - Planning to send out an email announcing the contest by Thursday, March 4th and then another email reminder, followed by one final email in Week 11 - Next meeting with info involved with apparel funds, decision for apparel piece, and possible OTSC Patagonia hoodies for OTSC members | |
- International Narratives event: MA-I students share their stories and experiences in OT from other parts of the world - Will be held in March and April - Specifically 3/31 Wednesday OR 3/25 Thursday at 12PM - Projected April date is 4/22 Thursday at 12PM - Interest in adding International News to monthly newsletter to advocate and inform our Chan community about what is occurring in the world - Planning to include this in March’s newsletter - Set to send in information for the newsletter before March 14th! | ||
- 10 new members!!! - [OTSC Newsletter] People can still/always join as members, but we’re pausing search for OTSpeaks Co-Rep - Plan to choose an OTSpeaks Co-Rep by an internal committee vote by the end of the semester - Run-off elections - Can create a statement on the constitution to clarify as long as there is a majority vote! - Make sure 2 people are elected next year - Highlights reel → advocacy spotlight on topic / person - Extension of PHE through end of 2021, telehealth - Monthly events calendar/newsletter/update email - OTSpeaks: active on instagram - Idea: highlights reel with advocacy spotlight in certain area - OTSpeaks x Philanthropy event (End of March, TBD) - OT influencers event (projected date: early April TBD) - Focus on visibility and advocacy; raise awareness - Raffle prizes for attendees - Details on the budget will be determined by the next meeting! - There is enough funds to spend $1,800 under GSG umbrella funds - If it fits in the criteria we can utilize it before it goes away - There are still other funds besides GSG funds | ||
