___  Discussion
  • April is also autism awareness month.  I wonder if there is a way we as a department can celebrate the two together.  Related discussion- Celebrate awareness of different disabilities throughout the school year starting next school year.  We don’t have to pick every single one from http://www.disabled-world.com/disability/awareness/awareness-dates.php .  But, we can pick some that our department thinks is relevant.
x   Update
  • I sent a last minute email regarding a Fallschat Twitter chat last Monday.  The transcript of this Twitter chat is available on http://www.symplur.com/healthcare-hashtags/fallschat/.  This could be really useful information 1st and 2nd year students can take with them on FW, and OTD students for their residency if your site is addressing fall prevention.
  • ATchat (Twitter chat on assistive technology) are on Wednesdays at 6 pm-7 pm.  It’s another really good professional development resource in our department.
  • For anyone who are working with people with borderline personality disorder or are interested in this population, you can join a weekly Twitter chat through the hash tag bpdchat.  Past transcripts of this Twitter chat can be found here.  http://bpdchat.wordpress.com/
  • As mentioned last time, any prospective OTD students who might be interested in finding an international OT as a preceptor, please email me.
