Welcome!
Internal Business:
1. Upcoming meeting dates for this semester (CHP 109)
  • Monday, April 13th at 4:00pm-5:30pm
    • *If you have an elective Mondays until 5pm, you’re still expected to attend as much of the meeting as you can.
2. Counterpart Check-In
3. Recent Events Debrief:
  • OT Float Cohort Announcements- Cohort C is almost done, Cohort A and B will make announcements to remind classmates about contributing.
  • OT Month Filming
  • International Forum Painting Day- 5 people attended to participate. Completed about half of materials.
  • West Coast Mixer: March 13- 30-40 (10 USC) students attended. Plan on including Loma Linda next time at a neutral venue.
  • OTAC Spring Symposium- 3 USC students in attendance. Great seminars. If you know any faculty or speakers for next fall (annual conference) contact Carlos.
  • Linc Housing Beautification Event- February 28- Rained out. Moved to March 14th.
  • Reading To Kids-March 14
5. OT Month Update/Plans- Marketing will consist of fliers, Facebook, and classroom announcements.
·       Sign up list in calendar (Google Doc) made by Rachel. Rachel will resend google doc contribute with events, please sign up with events you are interested in. Print out calendar and post around building.
6. Continue to update “Council Duties by Position”
  • Reminder: Update your “Council Duties by Position” Google Doc
  • Things you might want to include are:
    • Important dates/deadlines
    • Events related to your position
    • Names/phone numbers/email addresses of important contacts

2) Faculty Liaison (Kristy & Doug):

  • Faculty was provided details about the End of the Year Party, OT extravaganza, and the tentative schedule for OT month in April. More details will be forwarded to them as they become available.

3) Fundraising (Lori & Amy):

  • Actual Inventory as of 1/28/15
    • Sweatshirts: 1 med
    • Unisex Shirts: 2 sm, 2 med, 1 lg
    • V-neck Shirts: 2 sm, 2 med, 2 lg, 1 xl
    • Tank Tops: 1 xsm, 1 sm, 1 med, 1 lg
    • Tumblers: 26 (estimated as of March)
  • Sell merchandise at OT events in April?

Discussion
·       GSG approved $434.52 of the $454.32 that we requested for the International Forum. We’d like to ask OTSC for funds to cover the cost that GSG did not cover, as well as an additional $20 for water and juice, for a total of: $39.80.
·       Also, if you haven’t yet signed up for the International Forum, there is an eventbrite link here: https://2015internationalforum.eventbrite.com/ and a facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/827100880697621/
   OTSC approved $39.80 to go to international affairs chairs put on international forum.
   44 RSVP so far. If you know you’re going, please RSVP ASAP.
   Make classroom announcement regarding international forum.


6) OTAC (Carlos & Jodie):
Update
  • Mixer with other SoCal OT schools on Fri (3/13) was very successful! There were about 30+ students there from CSUDH, West Coast and USC. Loma Linda was not able to attend this event due to their school’s strict policy about not having any sort of school event where alcohol is being served. We plan to have the next social at a more neutral location to accommodate for their policy.
  • OTAC Spring Symposium on Sat (3/21)
  • CPK fundraiser check is ready for pick-up; we will be sending the check to the designated OTAC location ASAP.

·       Planning for a movie night to show Temple Grandin on April 9th with popcorn and candy and to have an App Brown Bag Lunch April 27 (to share and learn about approved OT apps for practice) as part of OT Month.

9) PTE Representative (Yasi):

  • 8th Annual OT Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 9-2:30 at the Center for Occupation & Lifestyle Redesign, 2653 Hoover Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90007
    • Theme: Occupational Therapy in Primary Care: A Health and Wellness Experience

11) Social Chair (Kristin & Jen):
Discussion
  • End of year ticket sellers (2 from each 1st  year cohort and 2 from each 2nd year OS section)
    • Sales from Tuesday 03/24/15 - Wednesday 04/29/15
    • Tiered cost: $35 until April 6th, $40 until April 20th, $45 until April 29th (last day to purchase tickets in advance), $50 at door
    • Students will make announcements in each cohort and collect checks. USC Occupational Therapy (End of the year party in memo)- Make note of who you collect checks from. Can buy tickets for guests (only over 21 yrs)
    • Tickets will be handed out when we receive them.
    • OT places you’ll go!
    • Put checks in Jordi’s mailbox
    • Light appetizers included, open bar from 7pm-10pm. Cash drinks 10pm on. Photo booth, slide show, DJ
