GENERAL UPDATES
Internal Business
- Spring
semester meetings will
be on Mondays from 4:00-5:30pm in CHP 112. Please
inform your Co-Chairs if you will not be in attendance. If you have
conflicting electives, the expectation is that you will attend as much of
the meeting as possible. Meeting dates are as follows:

- We need a big turnout to make it worth his time. Can
we promote it as an event to kick off OT Month?

business:
- Rose Float Fundraiser: make February Rose Float
Donation month!! Our division, along with other OT schools around the
country, pledged to raise $2017 (or more!) to get an OT float in the Rose
Parade. OTAC has to raise $100,000 BY March, so the time is now!
- OTAC just launched the “$20.17 in 2017” campaign. We
have donation forms or people can donate online at www.otaconline.org

everyone to donate $20.17!

for fundraising: Money from merchandise sales, recognition at End of
Year Party, Rose pin for donation, cohort competition, restaurant
night/happy hour with proceeds going towards float (CPK)

the Better Know A Professor Series with a Brown Bag Lunch with Adult Rehab
Faculty. The proposed date is Monday, February 22nd.

Fundraising (Amy & Carolin)
DISCUSSION:
- Merchandise, increasing sales,
ideas for other items
- Will
open survey to all OT students
- Ideas:
Baby onesies, license plate holders, hats

volunteers one time on Monday at lunch to sell merchandise: Dana Cary,
Jen Chen, Amy Rebhun, Caro Ding

International Relations (Sarah & Ken)
DISCUSSION:
- International
forum planning has begun! Our tentative date is Friday April 1, from 9am
to 12:30pm. Breakfast will be provided from Einstein’s. We are inviting
the MA Is to play a larger role in the forum this year, but are still
looking for a professor or OT practitioner willing to share his/her
international experience, if anyone has any suggestions. Contact us if you
know of an OT with experience abroad. Location TBD.
- Those
interested in being on the international forum committee, please stay for
a few minutes after the meeting to discuss further logistics! Thank you :)

GSG Senators (Patience & Kaitlin)
DISCUSSION:
- LA
Homeless Count - Drive from Thurs Jan 29th from 7-11pm to attempt to count
the homeless population of LA county. Important for funding for
organizations working with homeless population in LA.

Elections - All OTSC board members are eligible to run.

Philanthropy (May & Jamie)
UPDATES:
- In
the process of planning events for this semester and OT month.dates/times
will be provided soon! Please send any OT related events
- Current
date set for Swim with Mike-April 12th (during OT month) and Relay for
Life on April 2nd

Professional Development (Rachel & Allison)
DISCUSSION:
- We
will be screening Huntington’s Dance on Monday, February 1st at 5pm. As a
part of this event, we will serve a light dinner and host the Creative
Producer and Editor of the film. They will participate in a Q + A session
following the film screening. Please spread the word! Turnout expected
between 120-150.
- Vote
on dinner budget $350: Approved
- Coordinating
with AAA CarFit Programs for training and event in Feb and April, details
to come
- Free
event: Train you how to fit CarFit. Helps elderly fit their car better to
their needs.
- 4OTswitchboard
shared on facebook- database of specific OT groups focusing on practice
areas and toolkits.
- Will
continue to share relevant blogs and tips for practice

Social Chair (Jen & Benz)
DISCUSSION:

of the Year Party: Need 2-3 volunteers per cohort (1st years) and OS class
(2nd years) to sell tickets, as well as 1 volunteer for MA1, OTD, and PhD.
(Ticket sales will probably begin the week following Spring Break!)
